From recognition as a local family business to honors from the Commander in Chief, our commitment to constantly evolving our products and processes is evident. Here are some of the awards we have received for our efforts:
2024 Hydro-Thermal Wins its Second President's 'E Star' Award U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo presented Hydro-Thermal Corporation with its second President's "E" Star Award for Exports. It is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making ongoing significant contributions to the expansion of U.S. exports. |
2023 BizTimes Innovation Award Hydro-Thermal's Jim Zaiser was presented with the Innovation Award on November 30 at BizTimes Media's annual Innovation + Entrepreneurship Forum. This awards program recognizes excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation in southeastern Wisconsin. |
2023 Breakthrough Award for Dairy Ingredient Innovation American Dairy Products Institute (ADPI) advocates for the interests of the United States dairy manufacturers, marketers, and suppliers. Hydro-Thermal was awarded for the Hydron Sanitary Hydroheater, an innovative heating solution used in the dairy industry for maximizing permeate yield during cheese production. |
2018 President's "E" Star Award for Exports U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross presented Hydro-Thermal Corporation with the President's "E" Star Award for Exports. It is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making ongoing significant contributions to the expansion of U.S. exports. |
2016 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year-Grand Award Recognizes manufacturing excellence. Hydro-Thermal competed in the medium sized business category (100-299 employees), which was also the most competitive category, with a total of 10 finalist companies. This is the 29th year of the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year annual award program. Award criteria covers commitment to employees, effective research and development, commitment to quality, financial growth and stability, and commitment to community. |
2016 Corporate Partner Award, Waukesha Education Foundation Special award recognizing outstanding effort by an organization to foster quality and innovative learning and ensure a strong foundation for the future of the Waukesha community. Hydro-Thermal demonstrated exceptional leadership with their involvement in the MADE (Manufacturing Automotive Design Engineering) Action Committee, Schools2Skills program, Waukesha Engineering Academy and other local school engineering partnerships. |
Winners have annual revenue between $3 million and $500 million, recorded a profit for the past three years, and be located in the seven-county region. Companies with the highest percentage of growth from 2013 to 2015 were selected as winners. |
2016 Governor's Export Achievement Award Recognizes companies achieving extraordinary results in international markets and elevating Wisconsin’s competitiveness in the global economy. |
2016 APICS Company of the Year International association for professionals in all areas of resource management, including inventory, materials, supply chain, and all other areas that contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of an organization. |
2016 Platts Global Metals Award - Finalist Honors top performers that motivate the metals industry to new paradigms, embodying excellence in leadership, innovation, safety, integrity and overall performance. |
2015 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year - Finalist Recognition of excellence in manufacturing. It celebrates the successes of manufacturers in the state: their innovations, philanthropy, technological advances, commitment to customer satisfaction, and quality jobs. |

2014 President’s E Award for Exports Highest recognition any US entity can receive for contributing to the expansion of US exports. Four years of successive export growth and successful implementation of an innovative international marketing plan are significant factors in determining award recipients. |
2014 IQ (Innovation Quotient) Award The IQ Awards recognize the most innovative, clever and unique products, services or processes. |
2014 Top 10 Business of the Year Award Recognizes demonstrated good business, coupled with exceptional financial growth and consistency, while also showing commitment to educational partnerships and workforce development. |
2012 Wisconsin Family Business of the Year-Grand Award Hydro-Thermal received the Wisconsin Family Business of the Year-Grand Award for a small sized business category (less than 100 employees). The company was acquired by the Zaiser family in 1964 and has grown profits from four million dollars in 2000 to nearly 11 million dollars in 2011.Another significant factor in the win is how the strategic design benefits the extended Milwaukee area. Instead of utilizing offshore sources of castings and low-cost assembly components we insource vendors from a 30 mile radius of their headquarters. |
Seven Seals Award and Certificate of Recognition Hydro-Thermal received the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) Seven Seals Award in 2012. This award recognizes significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission, including the efforts of the more than 4,700 volunteers who carry out ESGR’s mission across the nation on a daily basis. The Seven Seals Award is the broadest and most inclusive award given by ESGR and is presented at the discretion of the State Chair or by ESGR senior leadership. Hydro-Thermal is especially proud of this award since the impetus of the award process is when an employee nominates their employer. |
2011 Governor’s Export Achievement Award Export-related growth, innovative techniques and approaches that result in the company’s success and demonstration of extra effort in capturing worldwide markets are the criteria for the Governor’s Export Achievement Award. Hydro-Thermal’s International Director, Gary Bymers, accepted the award which was presented at the 47th Annual Wisconsin International Trade Conference by Governor Scott Walker. Hydro-Thermal began exporting in 2000. By 2011 they expanded their global network of channel partners, serving clients in more than 45 countries. |
2010 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year The Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award celebrates the innovations, philanthropy, technological advances, commitment to customer satisfaction, and quality jobs of the state’s manufacturers. Hydro-Thermal received the Grand Award in the Small company size category, for companies with 1–99 employees. Hydro-Thermal was recognized for transitioning to a new business model after more than 45 years in the paper industry. With the knowledge and expertise of their world-class engineers, they diversified their business, and now work in a wide variety of industries in more than 45 countries. "It is a little company (but) a leader in the heat exchange industry," said John Emory Jr., judging panel member and president and CEO of Emory & Co., an investment banking firm. "The judges were very impressed with the high degree of specifications in the research and development, as well as the high caliber of their engineering." |
