Using the Jetcooker for Optimal Yield in Ethanol Production Featured

Determining your optimal outlet temperature is dependent on a lot of factors. Specifically, your feedstock and enzyme supplier will play a part in your ideal temperature.

Typically, hammer mill to a sieve size corn has an ideal outlet temperature of 210-215°F (99- 101°C). Using a blended feedstock, you should set the temperature higher – around 220-225°F (104-107°C). It is essential to determine ideal or optimal temperature set points based on your plant’s specific operating conditions.

 

Differential Pressure Recommendations

 

Differential pressure is also dependent on your feedstock. Typically, corn has an ideal differential pressure of 40 psi, while a blended feedstock has a slightly higher perfect differential pressure of 45 psi. The Jetcooker should be run to various shear to measure the sugar results to get the ideal differential pressure set point based on the plant’s specific operating conditions.

Understanding Abrasiveness

Knowing how abrasive your mash a driving factor in forecasting is how often you should rebuild (and even replace) your Hydroheater. Abrasive materials can wear away at parts over time, affecting the heater’s efficiency, making annual maintenance essential. Maintenance of your heater is critical.
