VENTURI EFFECT The reduction in fluid pressure that results when a fluid flows through a constricted section of pipe. The Venturi effect is named after Giovanni Battista Venturi (1746–1822), an Italian physicist. Source

VISCOSITY A measure of the resistance of a fluid which is being deformed by either shear stress or tensile stress. In everyday terms (and for fluids only), viscosity is "thickness" or "internal friction". Thus, water is "thin", having a lower viscosity, while honey is "thick", having a higher viscosity. Put simply, the less viscous the fluid is, the greater its ease of movement (fluidity). Source

WET-END STARCH COOKING One of the first stages in the paper making process. It involves getting the water out of finished pulp. At this point, the pulp stock looks like a mushy, watery solution and contains about 99% water. Source
