A meat and poultry plant was looking to heat large tanks of water for supply at multiple hose locations throughout the plant at consistent temperatures for the clean-up and sanitizing of processing stations and cutting utensils. A shell
and tube heat exchanger had difficulty in maintaining consistent temperatures for proper clean-up. Operation and mainteance costs were escalating as the equipment got older. The customer needed to:
- Maintain accurate water temperatures needed for the clean up and sanitizing process
- Reduce energy costs
- Increase production with reduced cycle times
Water Flow Rate: 200 gpm
Water Inlet Temperature: 50°F
Water Outlet Temperature: 150°F
Water Inlet Pressure: 50 psig
Steam Pressure: 100 psig

An H2030 with a Large (L) diffuser was installed to instantly heat 200 gpm of water from 50°F to 150°F to meet the required cleaning temperatures for the hose stations. Installation of the unit has proven the inherent advantages of its design.
♦ Maintains required temperatures to +/- 1°F
♦ Instant hot water on demand at 200 gpm
♦ Improved efficiencies reducing cycle times by over 40%
♦ Decreased energy costs by over 20% |
|
♦ Excellent turn down control and capabilities
♦ Instantaneous hot water on demand at exact
temperatures +/- 1°F
♦ Patented self-cleaning design to prevent scaling
and fouling |
