Concrete Manufacturing, Mix Tank Heating of Aggregate

Due to temperature fluctuations throughout the year, a concrete manufacturer in Wisconsin (Spancrete) was looking for a better way to heat the raw aggregate prior to entering the mix tank in order to :

  • Improve consistency of batches
  • Ensure proper curing
  • Improve efficiencies of current process
  • Reduce energy costs

Design Conditions

Water Flow Rate: 27 gpm
Water Inlet Temperature: 45°F
Water Outlet Temperature: 150-200°F
Target Mix Temperature: 75°F
Water Inlet Pressure: 45 psig
Steam Pressure: 100 psig
