Direct steam injection products have been utilized since the early 1900's. Anywhere steam exists, there is an application for DSI. DSI has been used to heat everything from baby food to wastewater. Direct steam injection is the ideal replacement for both shell and tube and plate and frame heat exchangers, batch kettles, sparging and similar systems. They're far superior to less dynamic jet cookers or venturi heaters.
