Corn Chip Producer Replaced Sparger with DSI Heating Valve for CIP Process
A large snack food producer was using a 5000 gallon [19 kl] sparged tank to supply hot water to their clean-in-place (CIP) process with poor results. The hot water supply was often depleted and water was not at the correct temperature for cleaning.
They replaced the sparged tank with an EZ Heater® from Hydro-Thermal Corporation to supply 250 gpm [2.27m3/m] to the cleaning lines for conveyors and equipment. With Hydro-Thermal's steam heater, process or utility fluid flows through the 3-way valve and comes in direct contact with the valve steam. The steam water heater, using direct steam injection technology, now provides constant hot water at required temperatures for sanitation. The plant never runs out of hot water, even at peak times.

Unlike heat exchangers or spargers, the Hydroheater® is designed only for your process conditions and unique application. We need to know a few things about your conditions, such as temperature range, steam pressure, and flow rates to size a heater specifically for you. When you click on our application data sheet and fill in the information, we will contact you within one business day. After an initial conversation with a sales representative or one of our engineers, we will then provide you with a custom quote for the Hydroheater best suited for your process.
Yes, I want to save energy and have more control using direct steam injection. Please complete the Application Data Sheet which helps us understand your process conditions such as fluid density, flow rates and temperature parameters.
