High Fructose Corn Syrup Plant Operates Efficiently under Variable Conditions.
A major U.S. producer of high fructose corn syrup was using our competitors 3 way valve with undesirable results including noise and instability. The jet cooker did not completely cook the starch, required a static mixer downstream and was unable to operate under varying production rates dictated by seasonal demands.
The solution was to install the original JetCooker™ by Hydro-Thermal, providing fully adjustable mechanical shear to insure complete cook-out of starch. The patented internal modulation (steam flow regulation) enables smooth operation over varying slurry flow rates and temperature requirements.
Since the Jetcooker was installed, the cook is complete and uniform with a homogeneous solution provided for saccharification. The static mixer has been eliminated from the system, saving energy. The plant now operates under variable production demands while maintaining a consistently high quality cook. No unscheduled maintenance stops have been reported.
