Paper Mill Optimizes Bleaching of 4% Kraft Stock
The mill experienced uneven heating and rough operation with its direct contact steam heater which was an adaptation of a static mixer. Inadequate condensing caused very rough operation that cracked the mixer and start-up noise and vibration compromised the mixer and associated piping and supports.
The solution was to install an Industrial Hydroheater® in-line. Because the Hydroheater was properly sized for the flow rates, vibration stopped immediately after installation.The Kraft stock temperature is precisely controlled within 1°F (0.5°C).
