Specialty Chemical Plant Saves Thousands of Dollars in Repair Costs

An internationally known specialty chemical plant replaced our competitors 3-way steam valve because it failed monthly due to clogging issues.The Hydro-Thermal direct steam injection flow control valve is superior due to its patented self-cleaning design. By installing our steam heater, up-time increased by over 20% and saved thousands of dollars in monthly repair costs.

As important to the plant as increased production was their need for consistent hot water into four jacketed vessels in their reactor and stripper process. The Hydroheater® provides this consistency, even at varying flow rates, and also provides water at the exact temperatures needed. The water also heats to set-point temperature almost instantaneously. Since these units were installed, no unscheduled down-time due to our heater has been reported.

Process conditions considered by Hydro-Thermal engineers to configure this system included;

Flow rates
400 gpm    [1.5 kl/m]
Inlet temperature
150°F        [65.5°C]
Outlet temperature 205°F        [96.5°C]
Target mix temperature 200°F        [93.3°C]
Steam pressure 50 psig     [3.4 bar]

Unlike heat exchangers or spargers, the Hydroheater® is designed only for your process conditions and unique application. We need to know a few things about your conditions, such as temperature range, steam pressure, and flow rates to size a heater specifically for you.

Yes, I want to save energy and have more control using direct steam injection. Please complete the Application Data Sheet which helps us understand your process conditions such as fluid density, flow rates and temperature parameters.
