#-A Definitions
3-A CERTIFICATION An organization that develops standards for food sanitation. Hydro-Thermal’s A-series heaters, also Known as sanitary Hydroheaters, are 3-A certified. Source
ABRASIVE Any material or substance used for grinding, polishing, etc., such as emery, pumice, or sandpaper. Hydro-Thermal’s products can handle abrasive materials such as pulp and paper stock, rough sand and thick tomato paste. Source
ALLOY MATERIALS A homogeneous mixture or solid solution of two or more metals, the atoms of one replacing or occupying interstitial positions between the atoms of the other. Hydro-Thermal’s heaters can be manufactured with a variety of specialty alloy materials including 316 stainless steel, 317 stainless steel or titanium. Source
ANIONIC A negatively charged ion, especially the ion that migrates to an anode in electrolysis. During the production of paper, anionic ions are added to strengthen the paper. Source
ANNEALING A heat process where a metal is heated to a specific temperature/color and then allowed to cool slowly. This softens the metal which means it can be cut and shaped more easily. Source
ASME - American Society of Mechanical Engineer. This engineering organization has created a pressure vessel code that Hydro-Thermal uses to design their equipment. Source
